An Authentically Bahamian Junkanoo Group

The objective of this web site is to provide the visitor with a bird's eye view of what is involved in taking a group to Bay Street for the annual Boxing Day and New Year's Day Parades in the Bahamas.  It takes the visitor step by step through the various activities from development of a theme all the way to the parades.

The Design Process

The design process begins with the vision of the individual who conceptualizes the theme.  He/she will advise the artists of how the theme is to be executed.  The artists will then begin sketches and will meet to determine which sketches are best suited for the theme, this process is simply called "sketching"

From Sketch to Cardboard Sculpters.  The shack is where our builders and artists converge to bring to life that which is only a dream.

Individuals are encouraged to prepare their own pieces and supervision is provided for those in need of a little help.

Decorating or tricking up ones costume is the final step in the design process.  Once the crepe paper has been laid over the cardboard or fabric individuals put their unique touches on the costume.  These final touches are very important as they set each person aside and usually determines who looks the best.

HERE IS WHAT THE FINAL PRODUCT LOOKS LIKE

The group boast of a vibrant and youthful flavour that embraces young persons unlike any other junkanoo group in our province.  This unique affinity toward the youth causes us to be the most innovative, cutting edge and  artistically virile Junkanoo organization in the Bahamas.
